Danielle specializes in working with parents after a loss at any stage. Danielle supports clients in processing grief, anxiety, and trauma related to pregnancy loss. She also specializes in working with clients who are pregnant after a loss. She specializes in working with clients who are struggling with interpersonal relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, perinatal mental health, and grief. She employs an eclectic approach with her clients, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person Centered Therapy approaches. Danielle aims to create a safe and collaborative space for her clients so that they may work towards their goals and make meaningful change in their lives. Danielle Tal, MA
Danielle has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, and specializes in working with clients after a pregnancy loss, supporting parents experiencing perinatal mood disorders, and supporting pregnancy after loss. She specializes in anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotional difficulties, everyday stress, and self-esteem issues. She believes a personalized and holistic approach to therapy works best and draws on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), person-centered approaches, and mindfulness practices. Danielle feels that therapy is an essential part of wellness and can provide the insights and skills that lead to growth. Fiona Smith
Fiona is a clinical trainee pursuing her Master's in Social Work at Columbia University. Prior to Taproot, Fiona interned for the Center for Prolonged Grief, where she completed research and received training in prolonged grief therapy. She spent just under a decade working in entertainment, where she most recently held a position as head of production, a job that honed her understanding of office dynamics and how personal narratives shape us. She specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples navigating life transitions and relationship issues, world of work issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, and grief. Fiona uses an integrative, strengths-based approach to therapy, drawing on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and somatic and mindfulness techniques. She aims to create a supportive, non-judgmental partnership with her clients, exploring issues with warmth, curiosity, and an open mind.
